AusNet Tomorrow Customer Insights Series

Building on the popularity of our customer Segmentation webinar in mid-2023, we are pleased to announce the AusNet Tomorrow Customer Insights Series.

Over the coming months, we’ll be hosting a series of webinars to share insights from our various customer insights and engagement activities to support the transition to clean energy and embed good outcomes for customers in the decisions we make. First up in the series is our Quantifying Customer Values study.

Advancing customer outcomes through Quantifying Customer Values

AusNet’s investments are subject to rigorous economic tests, which have been used to encourage efficiency in a “steady state” operating environment. While they are very useful in keeping costs down for customers, they unintentionally exclude customers’ changing needs and harder-to-quantify benefits from being properly considered in investment decisions.

To help bridge this gap, AusNet has undertaken a study to quantify the value customers place on a range of benefits that are not currently captured in investment decisions. This groundbreaking study is believed to be the largest of its type in the NEM, and is the first time AusNet customers’ values have been quantified at scale. The insights from the study will play a key role in shaping our Electricity Distribution Price Review (2026-31) proposal, helping us to balance trade-offs, ensure service improvements (or reductions) are aligned with customers’ preferences and priorities, and make more holistic, customer-centric investments.
