Listening to Landholders: What We Heard

We sought feedback from landholders to understand how our transmission works and safety programs affect local communities. We invited landholders involved in several transmission maintenance and upgrade projects to share their experiences and views through voluntary surveys.

How the two surveys differed:

1. Project experience, including how well we communicated, how works were carried out on properties, and overall satisfaction.

2. Transmission safety awareness, including how useful landholders found safety information and how they prefer to receive updates in the future.

Overall, landholders who responded shared positive feedback about their experience working with our teams.

  • Most respondents said the information they received before works began was clear and helped them understand what to expect.
  • Communication and engagement were rated highly, with respondents highlighting respectful behaviour, professionalism, and care shown for their property.
  • Respondents felt our teams worked safely and efficiently, with minimal disruption to their operations.
  • Feedback also showed strong trust in our staff and contractors.

Landholders who took part in the safety survey demonstrated good awareness of key transmission safety requirements, including the need for permits when operating tall machinery near transmission lines. Safety information was generally seen as useful, with preferences for receiving future updates varying between phone calls, email, and text messages.

We encourage all landholders and contractors working near transmission lines to understand permitted and prohibited activities and safety requirements.
